Advisory Board

To ensure that the project stays focused on the primary goal of making Information Assurance and the SFS program more attractive to women, an advisory board made up of influential and experienced women in the computing and Information Assurance fields has been formed to guide the project. This board is comprised of six women from institutions that have been designated Centers of Academic Excellence in the Information Assurance Education and Research, as well as industries where information assurance is a major contributor.


Dr. Julia Hodges

Dr. Hodges is a professor of computer science and engineering. She recently completed 10 very successful years as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Mississippi State University.


Dr. Donna Reese

Dr. Reese is a professor of computer science and engineering with over 20 years of experience as an educator. She currently serves as the Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Mississippi State University.


Dr. Kara Nance

Dr. Nance is a professor of computer science with over 20 years of experience as an educator. She recently served as the Head of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, and has extensive experience in broadening the participation of women in computing.


Dr. Lorie Liebrock

Dr. Liebrock is an associate professor of computer science with over 10 years of experience as an educator. She currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Computer Science at New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and the Associate Dean for Graduate Studies.


Dr. Barbara Endicott-Popovsky

Dr. Endicott-Popovsky is an associate professor of information studies and urban planning with over 10 years of experience as an educator. She currently serves as the Director of the Center of Information Assurance and Cybersecurity at the University of Washington.


Sara Ford

Ms. Ford is a former undergraduate student in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Mississippi State University who went on to a very successful career at Microsoft working in Information Assurance. She recently returned to graduate school to pursue her M.S. degree.
